TROIS-RIVIERES, QC, Aug. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Directors of
GlobeeCom International Inc. ("GlobeeCom") (TSX Venture: GBC) has approved the
Company's unaudited financial statements for the period ended June 30, 2005.
For the period ended June 30, 2005, GlobeeCom recorded income of
$129,544, the major part of which came from European sales. These results are
in line with management forecasts for the first two quarters of 2005.
GlobeeCom Inc., a subsidiary of GlobeeCom, recorded a net consolidated
half-year loss of $630,557 after CDTI Research and Development tax credits, a
grant of $36,263 and earned interest of $3,890. This loss includes stock-based
remuneration of $38,786.
GlobeeCom was accredited as a CDTI (centre of development if information
technology) in 2001. CDTI credits are valid for the offsetting of eligible
salaries until 2013.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
In the course of the past quarter, GlobeeCom signed a master distribution
agreement with the French-based company INERSIS. This agreement will allow
INERSIS to promote, market, integrate and support the technological solutions
made available by GlobeeCom, including GlobeMeeting(R), amongst institutions,
service suppliers and commercial clients throughout its distribution networks
in France, Belgium and French-speaking Africa.
INERSIS is a company specializing in computer network and
telecommunications integration and skills. The company has a centre of
competence devoted to consulting, support, coordination and implementation of
solutions for its European clientele at large. The management team enjoys a
very high profile in the European telecommunications domain. Additionally,
INERSIS has a long-standing decision-making level relationship with many
clients.
GLOBEECOM JOINS UP WITH I.I.T.
GlobeeCom International Inc. wishes to announce that it has joined up
with the International Institute of Telecommunications (I.I.T.). The
International Institute of Telecommunications (I.I.T.) and the International
Institute of Telecommunications - Research (I.I.T.-R.) constitute one of the
finest telecommunications and information technology industrial centres in
Canada, and their common goal is to play a major role in the development of
the telecommunications/ICT industry. I.I.T. provides essential support to
innovative SMBs and assists them through the crucial stages of technological
validation and marketing.
I.I.T., whose major features include its training and research centres,
is a GlobeeCom client and uses GlobeMeeting(R) technology, a collaborative on-
line tool for use over IP networks to provide its clients with distance-
training sessions (distance teaching, teleworking) and its research workers
and partners with an extremely efficient collaborative network. This platform,
based on IP technology, opens up new possibilities both for the Institute and
for its clients and partners in general.
PROSPECTS
GlobeeCom will continue to develop its marketing activities both in
Europe and in Canada.
Our development plan is focussed on three axes:
- The concentration of our growth internationally round our current
technologies, while remaining attentive to other business
opportunities, more especially with institutions in Canada and the rest
of North America;
- The conclusion of strategic agreements with service suppliers,
distributors and European and North-American partners for the
distribution and marketing of GlobeMeeting(R);
- The conclusion of technological partnerships and/or timely acquisitions
that will contribute not only to a growth in business volume, but also
to the creation of a coherent network of operating units that
complement one another by their respective areas of activity and
expertise.
