TORONTO, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - Advantex Marketing International Inc. (TSX:ADX)
is pleased to announce the expansion of its long-term relationship with The
New York Times with the launch of TimesPoints Online Shops
(http://timespointsonlineshops.com), an online shopping mall for The New York
Times New Online Member Rewards Program. Through the online shopping mall, New
York Times subscribers will earn TimesPoints when shopping at many of the
best-known online retailers including The Sharper Image, Barnes&Noble.com,
Harry and David, Dell.com and others.
"TimesPoints Online Shops, our first online shopping mall program for a
major daily newspaper, is a prime example of how Advantex is leveraging its
relationships, infrastructure, and systems to create opportunities for
incremental revenue growth," said G. Randall Munger, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Advantex. "Advantex has a long and successful track
record of developing and delivering loyalty programs for the newspaper
industry, including our popular Dining and Recreation Books, and the
predecessor subscriber loyalty program for The New York Times, which operated
for more than 10 years. We are very pleased to continue our long-term
relationship with The New York Times with this exciting new initiative."
Each point earned is worth the equivalent of $1 in eligible products and
services. Members can apply TimesPoints to pay for their subscription or to
redeem towards other great rewards from The New York Times.
The breadth of Advantex's responsibilities for TimesPoints Online Shops
includes Web site development and maintenance, merchant management and
marketing, award processing, database management, analytics and reporting, and
other services related to the site's operations.
"The significant investment Advantex has made in scalable online
technology is producing results. Contribution from our online shopping malls
is increasing, the result of the growing popularity of online shopping, a more
robust merchant base, and the launch of additional mall programs," said Mr.
Munger. "Advantex has established a commanding presence in the online
marketing sector through our airline loyalty programs."
