ADX: TSX TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - Advantex Marketing International Inc. (TSX:ADX) today announced a major restructuring of its business. Operating costs will be reduced by more than $1.5 million annually through selective staff reductions, lower occupancy costs and reductions in other overhead expenses. "The restructuring reflects the changes that have taken place in our business over the past year, including the sale of Samplex and the discontinuation of unprofitable programs and services," said G. Randall Munger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Advantex. "We are single- mindedly committed to making Advantex profitable. Every aspect of our business is under the microscope; no area will go overlooked." In addition to the cost reduction measures announced today, significant revenue enhancement initiatives are also underway, including an expanded merchant working capital program, offered in connection with the Company's merchant loyalty programs. The merchant working capital program is expected to increase profit margins and the number of participating merchants. The positive impact of today's changes will begin to be reflected in the Company's financial results in the third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2006 (periods ending March 31, 2006 and June 30, 2006, respectively). Advantex announced the appointment of Kelly Ambrose to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2005. "Kelly's extensive experience in restructuring organizations for profitability has and will continue to be very valuable," said Mr. Munger. "We wish to extend our thanks and appreciation to the departing employees for their contribution to the company during their time with us, and wish them every success in their future plans."
