Adani Power wins 558-MW Tamil Nadu supply

About this update from Adani Power Limited
Adani Power (NSE: ADANIPOWER), India’s largest private power producer with an installed capacity of 18.15 GW, said on February 24 that its subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd. , has secured a Letter of Award from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited for the supply of 558 MW (net) of electricity over a five-year term. Moxie Power operates a 1,200 MW (2x600 MW) thermal power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu , and emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender by quoting a tariff of INR5.910 per unit. Power supply under the contract is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2026 , according to the company's press release. With this award, both generating units at the Tuticorin facility are now backed by power supply agreements. The company said more than 95% of its total operational capacity is tied up under medium- to long-term PPAs, enhancing revenue visibility and reducing exposure to short-term market volatility. It is targeting near-100% PPA coverage for all operational and under-construction assets over the next few years. The additional 558 MW is expected to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s grid stability and ensure reliable electricity supply for households, businesses and industries, while the competitive tariff is projected to support affordable power for consumers. © 2026 bne IntelliNews, source Magazine
