In 2018, he concluded a third term with Barrick Gold as Senior VP Frontera District in Chile and Argentina capping a 16-year history with Barrick Gold in positions that include Mine Manager at the Goldstrike Mine in Nevada during early development and operations, Operations Manager at the Pierina Mine from construction to operations, and General Manager of the Veladero Mine from advanced exploration through permitting, feasibility and into production.

Speaker 2: So we were obviously Speaker 2: excited in April of this year when we received a permit to mine, but it was conditional Speaker 2: and there were 3 conditions and 2 of those were met rather early in May. Speaker 2: So I think there was expectation, Speaker 2: we are rife in this industry with somehow Speaker 2: failures or inability to sometimes close on permits. Speaker 2: So for us to be able to reach that final milestone has been Speaker 2: a real kind of a kudos and a handoff to George and team, as well as the state of Wyoming and their process.
