TXT E-Tech to Lead DART Project Driving Innovation in the European Defence Sector
The company is preparing to coordinate the €28 million project funded by the European Defence Fund,
bringing together some of Europe's leading aerospace, defence and digital engineering organisations to
develop new interoperable digital architectures for the defence systems of the future.
Milan, 26 May 2026 - TXT Group announces that it has been selected to lead the DART project - Digital
Architecture Framework for SoS Readiness and Digital Twin Integration - funded by the
European Defence Fund (EDF), the European Union programme dedicated to strengthening industrial and
technological cooperation in the defence sector.
TXT e-Tech - the Group's subsidiary specialising in the development of digital solutions that combine AI, IoT
and Digital Twin technologies to support the aerospace, defence, automotive and manufacturing
sectors - will coordinate the EDF project, confirming the Group's growing relevance within European
strategic research and innovation programmes.
With a total value of approximately €28 million and a duration of 36 months, DART aims to contribute to the
development of a more integrated, standardised and technologically autonomous
European defence market, promoting collaboration and interoperability across the European Union's
industrial and technological ecosystems.
More specifically, the initiative introduces an innovative approach that combines Digital Twin technologies,
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and system interoperability to address the increasing
complexity of European air combat programmes and, more broadly, modern system-ofsystems programmes.
The consortium brings together leading European industrial and technology organisations, including
Dassault Systèmes, MBDA Italia, Indra Sistemas, Safran Electronics & Defense, GMV Aerospace and Defence,
Orange and Aero Vodochody Aerospace, alongside other industrial partners and European centres of
excellence.
"We are delighted to have secured the coordination of a European Defence Fund initiative of the scale and
strategic importance of DART," said Daniele Misani - CEO of TXT Group. "This achievement makes us
particularly proud as it represents important recognition of the expertise developed by the Group in
advanced technological and digital solutions applied to the aerospace and defence sectors. Working on a
project of this magnitude will enable us to further consolidate our expertise in defence and strengthen the
Group's role within Europe's leading programmes dedicated to technological development in such a
strategic sector."
"Coordinating a European project such as DART will certainly represent an important challenge,"
said Michele Sesana - Innovation Manager at TXT Group. "Our team is ready to embark on this journey,
drawing on the technological expertise and programme management capabilities developed over the
years, which have enabled the Group to establish itself among Europe's leading players in
the defence sector. We have three years of hard work and collaboration with leading European industrialpartners ahead of us, with the aim of making a tangible contribution to the development of Europe's
industrial and defense sectors."
