Australian company Tlou Energy (ASX: TOU; BSE: TLOU) says it is moving closer to generating its first revenues, as the company advances transmission, gas and solar facilities linked to its flagship Lesedi gas-to-power project. The update came in the company’s 2025 annual report, released this week. Tlou described the year as a “transition to revenues,” highlighting steady progress on infrastructure. The 100 km, 66 kV transmission line connecting the Lesedi site to the national grid is nearly complete, while construction of a new substation is more than 90% finished. Both assets are considered critical to linking Tlou’s output to end users. On financials, the company reported a net loss of $4.8mn for the year, widening from $4.3mn in 2024. Total assets stood at about $81.9mn , with net assets of $61.4mn . The board said losses were expected given the development phase, but pointed to progress on funding, facilities and partnerships as signs of improving resilience. Tlou also warned of ongoing risks, citing financing challenges, geological uncertainties and operational hurdles typical of early-stage energy projects. Still, management insisted the company was well placed to enter commercial operations in the coming year. “Completion of key infrastructure and expansion into new markets demonstrates tangible progress,” Tlou said. Gas continues to flow from appraisal wells Lesedi 4 and Lesedi 6, underpinning the project’s fuel supply. Tlou is also integrating a 1 MW solar component, with management stating that hybrid generation will both support a planned gas-powered data centre and improve reliability for customers. A binding agreement was signed during the year with Dubai -based Kala Data FZCO to develop the data centre, diversifying revenue streams beyond electricity sales.
