It has been the strategical target of Chinese TCM modernization to introduce TCM to western developed countries. Although it was in 1996 that China had initiated to carry out TCM modernization strategy, it had been prohibitive for most TCM enterprises because the difference of the concept and system of TCM between that of western medicine makes it seem impossible to bring TCM to international market. However, Tasly was not deterred by such difficulties and pioneered to carry on national mission of TCM modernization and internationalization. According to the data, total amount of patents possessed by Tasly Goup had reached 1436 including 1320 patents for invention. Besides that, Tasly's Danshen Compound Dripping Pill (Dantonic) is the first Chinese herbal compound medicine that got FDA IND clinical application. In 2007, Tasly launched FDA phaseⅡclinical trials which was carried out in 15 American clinical centers including New York, Florida, Texas and California,etc. All the clinical trials strictly followed international recognized standard-GCP Clinical Trial Standards. The trail was completed in Aug.2010 and it marked that Dantonic became the first Chinese patent medicine approved by FDA Ⅱclinical trials and confirmed as a safe and efficient Chinese herbal compound. Dantonic is currently undergoing FDA phase III clinical trials in 137 sites throughout North America and Europe.
