SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura; "SKY Perfect JSAT") announces that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding a proof-of-concept (PoC) demonstration of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC*) technology with Forward Edge-AI Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Koji Kabumoto; hereinafter "FEAI-JP") and its parent company, Forward Edge AI, Inc. (Head Office: San Antonio, Texas, USA; CEO: Eric Adolphe; hereinafter "FEAI").

In recent years, rapid advancements in quantum computing have heightened concerns that highly sensitive information requiring strict confidentiality may become vulnerable to future decryption. Responding to this emerging risk has become a global challenge. In this context, countries around the world are advancing the adoption of PQC, an encryption technology designed to maintain security even against attacks leveraging quantum computers.

SKY Perfect JSAT has been conducting various technology evaluations to enhance the security and confidentiality of satellite communications. As part of these ongoing efforts, the PoC demonstration using PQC will be conducted jointly with FEAI-JP and FEAI. The demonstration will include the establishment of PQC-based connections over satellite communication links, as well as the verification and evaluation of communication performance, including encryption performance, latency tolerance, and stability. The results of the demonstration will be utilized for future technical development and evaluation.

SKY Perfect JSAT will continue advancing technology evaluations to strengthen the security and confidentiality of communications, drawing on the experience and expertise it has built as one of Asia's leading satellite communications operators.

* PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography): A next-generation cryptographic technology designed to maintain security even against attacks using quantum computers. The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is leading its standardization, and governments and critical infrastructure operators worldwide are accelerating adoption.
