TORONTO, Jan. 10 /CNW/ - Sirit Inc. ("Sirit") (TSX: SI), a leading provider of radio frequency identification ("RFID") technology, announced today that it has received US$1.7 million in cash from the sale of the second of its non-core investments, Applied Data Systems, Inc. ("ADS"). The sale value represents more than three times the original US$0.5 million investment.
"The sale of ADS represents the disposition of two of the three legacy investments Sirit held on its books within the past six months. The cash will be invested in operations as the Company focuses on sales growth and new market penetration of our RFID technology solutions," said Norbert Dawalibi, President and CEO, Sirit Inc.
"The disposition of both Medsite in September 2006 and now ADS has added significant liquidity and value to Sirit. The Company has one small remaining investment which it hopes to eventually monetize," added Anastasia Chodarcewicz, Chief Financial Officer, Sirit Inc.
