Includes expanded regulatory and Reva TAP support
TORONTO, Nov. 29 /CNW/ - Sirit Inc. ("Sirit") (TSX: SI), a leading
provider of radio frequency identification ("RFID") technology, is pleased to
announce a firmware update that brings refined performance enhancements to the
INfinity 510 UHF fixed reader. The update improves functionality in a number
of areas and is recommended for all users.
<<
Firmware revision 1.2 includes:
- Expanded regulatory regional support including Australia, Brazil,
Hong Kong, India, Japan, NZ, Singapore, Thailand, and Korea.
- Enhanced digital I/O (input/output) technology for integration with
sensors and actuators such as lights, and motion detectors.
- Enhanced support for Reva Systems' Tag Acquisition Processor(TM)
(TAP). TAP was designed to act as a central command post for numerous
networks of RFID interrogators (readers). The TAP is a rack-mountable
device that plugs into networks of interrogators and the user's local
area network (LAN). The TAP filters and aggregates tag reads before
sending the tag data to software applications running at the
enterprise level.

About Sirit's INfinity 510
The INfinity 510 was developed from the ground-up as a Gen 2 compliant
multi-protocol reader and is delivering the best performance in its class. Now
in production, the INfinity 510 has an advanced architecture designed to
maximize tag read rates and range, simplify device management and support
dense reader environments. It can also host complex memory-intensive
middleware and custom applications. An array of features built into the
INfinity 510 simplifies configuration and maintenance for both small- and
large-scale deployments. For quick and easy deployments, the INfinity 510
comes with installation wizards and the ability to easily define and assign
reader profiles through configuration synchronization. Real-time device
monitoring, including diagnostic and statistical reporting tools with
user-configurable alarms, makes it possible to proactively track reader
health. In addition, remote firmware upgrade functionality enables
administrators to apply a single firmware release package to a group of
readers without the need to upgrade each device manually.
