NEW YORK and TORONTO, Dec. 12 /CNW/ - Interop New York, Booths No. 449, No. 441-05 - Route1(TM) (TSX-V:ROI), an innovator in secure, mobile thin-clients, today debuted MobiKEY and the SAFE Response Business Continuity Solution at Interop New York. Route1's SAFE Response is designed to alleviate the impact of quarantines and concerns over safe travel, among other business disruptions, by allowing employees to easily and safely 'telecommute' with their critical office systems. SAFE (Simplified Access For Emergency) Response is built on the Company's latest innovation, the MobiKEY, a USB thin-client that eliminates the use of cumbersome VPNs and expensive security tokens. "Our solution delivers the same accessibility to applications and services to the home or remote office as those available in the corporate office," said Andrew White, Route1 CEO. "Our complete integration of security management means that IT can be confident that a SAFE Response roll out is safeguarded and not reliant on end-users' efforts or computers for security." With SAFE Response, users remotely access and control their desktop applications which look, act and behave exactly as they do when they are at their desk in the office. There are no complicated VPN set ups, tokens, or unfamiliar 'webified' applications to struggle with. Users simply plug MobiKEY into the USB port of their home computers and 30 seconds later they are running their office desktop. "Successful business continuity planning must focus on people not just alternate arrangements for facilities and technology," said Michelle Warren, market analyst with Evans Research, Toronto. "Route1's solution addresses the critical requirement to put people instantly in touch with the information and systems to make them productive no matter the disruption." MobiKEY's unique security feature doesn't require users to carry office applications or data with them. The device auto-runs from on-board read-only memory and its SIM Smart Card authenticates users with Route1's MobiNET service which allows office systems to connect to the 'guest' computer. The solution is virus, malware and attack resistant and the MobiKEY is not a node on the corporate network. MobiKEY's instant off design never leaves traces of user's work on the guest system and should the device be lost or stolen the unit can be switched off by MobiNET. MobiKEY users can 'telecommute' with up to five different computers. MobiKEY is the latest member of Route1's Mobi Solution, a platform that enables instant secure, remote computing using thin-clients. The platform's Seamless Workspace architecture and workSecure security design allow users to remotely operate office computing and network resources seamlessly and securely while traversing networks. The managed MobiNET service authenticates users, devices and encrypts all communications using technology from RSA. System Requirements and Pricing Route1's Mobi Solution and the MobiKEY support systems running Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003 or higher with wireless or wired connection to the internet. MobiKEY with Route1's MobiNET service is available at USD $39.95 (CDN $49.95) monthly. SAFE Response for multiple users is available at less than $1 per user per day plus initial setup charges dependent on the size of deployment.
