Sudirman, Jakarta 12190 https://www.medcoenergi.com Indonesia MedcoEnergi Adds 39 MW Capacity to the Batam-Bintan Power System Batam, 12 November 2025 - PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MedcoEnergi), through its subsidiary PT Medco Power Indonesia (Medco Power), has commenced the commercial operation (COD) of a 39 MW Add-On Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) in Tanjung Uncang, Batam, on 8 November 2025 . The project, developed by Medco Power's subsidiary PT Energi Listrik Batam (ELB) under a long-term power purchase agreement with PT PLN Batam, converts the existing 70 MW open-cycle facility into a 109 MW combined-cycle plant. By utilizing exhaust heat from gas turbines to generate additional power through a steam turbine, the plant increases efficiency and reduces carbon intensity from 0.8 to 0.4 tons of CO ₂ per MWh, strengthening electricity supply for Batam and Bintan's industrial growth.
