Prospect Resources Ltd (ASX:PSC) says new drilling results have confirmed further strike extensions at its Nyungu Central deposit in Zambia’s north-west, reinforcing the scale potential of the company’s flagship Mumbezhi Copper Project.
In an ASX filing on October 15, Prospect said drilling across Nyungu Central had extended mineralisation at both the southern and northern ends of the deposit, expanding its footprint to more than 1.5km. Significant intercepts include 20.9m at 0.70% Cu from 226m and 14.4m at 0.45% Cu from 83.6m, including 4.4m at 0.60 g/t Au in hole NCDD011, and 36.0m at 0.33% Cu from 52m in hole NCDD015.
The company also reported final assay results from Phase 2 drilling at Kabikupa, including 13.0m at 0.50% Cu from 138m (hole KKDD018) and 13.0m at 0.31% Cu from 37.0m, including 5.0m at 0.48% Cu from 42.0m (hole NCDD014).
With anomalous gold values recently identified from metallurgical work at Nyungu Central, Prospect said it is now systematically assaying for gold alongside copper. Two diamond rigs are currently targeting the Nyungu Central and West Mwombezhi zones, with Phase 2 drilling nearing completion.
Managing Director and CEO Sam Hosack said the latest results show “growing strike extent and down-dip extensions” that are expected to deliver a material resource expansion. Updated Mineral Resource estimates for Nyungu Central and Kabikupa are on track for late Q4 2025, alongside final results from airborne electromagnetic and geochemical soil surveys across the Nyungu and Kabikupa-Kamafamba corridors.
