Prospect Resources Ltd (ASX:PSC, FRA:5E8) has expanded its copper footprint in Zambia’s Copperbelt region, where drilling at the Mumbezhi Project continues to reveal extensive mineralisation across multiple deposits.
In its September 2025 quarterly report to the ASX, the company said its 18,000 m Phase 2 drilling programme — comprising about 56 diamond holes and 165 aircore holes — is nearing completion. The campaign is designed to upgrade exploration targets and support a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) due in Q4 2025.
At the flagship Nyungu Central deposit, drilling has confirmed a
growing, large-scale copper system now extending over 1.5 km, with
mineralisation traced both up plunge into oxide zones and down
plunge into sulphides. Key intersections include:
• 49 m @ 0.52% Cu from 314 m (incl. 12.3 m @ 0.79% Cu) – hole
NCRD009
• 60.5 m @ 0.53% Cu from 296 m (incl. 33 m @ 0.71% Cu) –
NCDD010
• 18 m @ 0.59% Cu from 189 m (incl. 6.3 m @ 1.11% Cu) –
NCDD009
• 20.9 m @ 0.70% Cu from 226 m and 14.4 m @ 0.45% Cu from 83.6 m –
NCDD011
At Kabikupa, full assays from 14 diamond holes totalling 3,197.5 m have extended copper mineralisation along strike to more than 1 km, confirming zones nearer surface and at depth. Highlights include 8.5 m @ 1.06% Cu from 69.3 m (KKDD015) and 21 m @ 0.48% Cu from 247 m (KKDD010).
Prospect said the results demonstrate the continuity of sediment-hosted Cu-Co mineralisation typical of Zambia’s Central African Copperbelt, home to operations such as Kansanshi and Lumwana. The company expects the ongoing work to underpin a resource model for both Nyungu Central and Kabikupa before year-end.
Located about 60 km west of Solwezi, the Mumbezhi Project forms part of Prospect’s strategy to develop a multi-asset African copper portfolio to meet rising global demand for critical minerals.
