CALGARY, April 13 /CNW/ - Blackpool Exploration Ltd. (BPX.A: TSX Venture Exchange) reports that a well drilled in the Pouce Coupe area of northwestern Alberta has been completed in the Baldonnel Formation. In the Company's press release dated March 31, 2006, a completion of the Halfway Formation was noted which resulted in a gas flow rate of 400 mcfd. In addition, two zones within the Baldonnel Formation have now been completed and flow tested at a combined gas rate of 1.1 million cubic feet per day. Blackpool's 25% working interest share of this flow rate represents a possible addition to net gas production of 275 mcfd or 46 barrels of oil equivalent per day ((x)6 mcf (equal sign) 1 barrel). Tie-in of this well to a gas gathering and processing facility will now proceed with commencement of production anticipated by the end of the 3rd quarter 2006. (x) BOEs may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A BOE conversion ratio of 6 Mcf: 1 bbl is based on an energy equivalency conversion method primarily applicable at the burner tip and does not represent a value equivalency at the wellhead. The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
