CALGARY, March 29 /CNW/ - Blackpool Exploration Ltd. (BPX.A - TSX Venture Exchange) announces that Fred Kirkham has joined the company as Vice-President, Engineering. Mr. Kirkham is a professional engineer and a graduate of the University of Calgary. He has 37 years of experience as a Senior Reservoir Engineer with a variety of companies in Canada and overseas including Norcen Energy Resources Ltd. and Atlantic Richfield Indonesia Inc. Most recently, Mr. Kirkham has been a principal of Martin Brusset & Associates, one of Canada's leading oil and gas reserves evaluation firms. At Blackpool, Mr. Kirkham will oversee all of the Corporation's engineering activities and is scheduled to commence his employment on April 3, 2006. The Company has granted Mr. Kirkham stock options for a total of three hundred thousand common shares at an exercise price of $0.36 per share expiring on March 28th, 2011. The granting of these stock options is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. The stock options and any shares issued upon the exercise of the stock options will be subject to a four month hold period expiring July 29th, 2006, under applicable securities laws.
