PostNL, in cooperation with Q-Park Netherlands, has installed six new parcel vending machines at car parks in Maastricht. This increases the number of PostNL parcel machines in the city to 17. The locations contribute to smarter and more sustainable city logistics and are often part of daily routes of residents and visitors.

The vending machines have been installed at Q-Park Frontenpark, Stadspark III, De Griend, Vrijthof and Onze Lieve Vrouweplein in the city centre. A parcel vending machine has also been installed at Q-Park De Heeg, on the outskirts of the city. "In a historic city centre where space is scarce, central collection points help to reduce logistical pressure," says Harm Schokker, Deputy Director Out-of-Home at PostNL. "By placing vending machines in locations where people go anyway, we make picking up and sending parcels easier as well as supporting more efficient city logistics." By delivering parcels bundled at one central location, fewer delivery movements are needed.

PostNL and Q-Park have been working together since 2022. There are currently 17 PostNL parcel machines at Q-Park nationwide and their use has doubled in the past year. In addition, the parcel vending machines provide 150 to 300 extra visitors per week per location. The recently installed vending machines in Maastricht contain up to 90 lockers and are accessible 24/7. Users appreciate the combination of parking and picking up or sending parcels due to its central location and high accessibility.
