Persimmon Homes West Midlands has begun work on its new Florent Gardens development, set in the heart of Albrighton.

Florent Gardens will deliver 88 two- to four-bedroom homes, all featuring solar panels and electric vehicle charging points as standard.

As part of the development, Persimmon Homes West Midlands will contribute £279,520 through the Community Infrastructure Levy towards local infrastructure and services, whilst also delivering more than two acres of public open space.

The scheme also includes a three-metre-wide cycleway, new pedestrian and cycle connections, and a dedicated pedestrian link to St Mary's CE Primary School.

Florent Gardens will also provide 17 affordable homes through Affordable Rent, Shared Ownership and Discounted Market Sale.

The development is well connected, with a local train station, easy access to the M54 and a range of nearby amenities, including schools, shops, healthcare services and green spaces.

Elaine Brown, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said:

"We are delighted to have spades in the ground at our Florent Gardens development and I'm looking forward to soon welcoming homebuyers to discover more about the high-quality homes available.

The development has been thoughtfully designed with a strong focus on sustainability, connectivity and creating a sense of place. We look forward to enhancing Albrighton's thriving community and creating a development that future residents will be proud to call home for years to come."

Cllr James Owen, Cabinet Member for Housing at Shropshire Council said:

"I am happy to see Persimmon Homes begin work on their Albrighton development, which will not only bring much-needed housing but also investment to the local area."
