1917
Founded with the management philosophy of "contributing to society by providing safety and security"
Following the First World War, in response to screw shortages caused by dependence on overseas imports, founder Mitsunosuke Okabe began manufacturing and selling bolts and nuts. Since then, under the guiding philosophy of "contributing to society by providing safety and security," we have developed products and construction methods in the building and civil engineering fields
to help safeguard lives and livelihoods from natural disasters. The principles enshrined in our Corporate Creed-"pioneering spirit," "commitment to service," "cultivation of human resources," and "a rewarding workplace"-have been passed down for over a century, becoming deeply ingrained as Okabe's core values.
1951
Advancing the construction industry through a groundbreaking method
Building on the expertise gained from screw manufacturing, we were the first in the industry to develop and market the form
tie method. This innovative construction technique streamlined formwork operations, improved concrete quality, and enhanced worker safety. It quickly gained wide adoption, eventually becoming an industry standard. From major national projects such as the Tokyo Olympics and the Osaka Expo to the surging construction demand during Japan's period of rapid economic growth, this method not only propelled Okabe's growth but also made a significant contribution to the safety and security of the nation's social infrastructure.
Management Philosophy
Contributing to society by providing safety and security
Corporate Creed
We will have a pioneering spirit and will work to demonstrate ingenuity and create innovations at all places of work.
We will have a commitment to service and will strive to contribute to society and the Group's development.
We will endeavor to cultivate human resources for sustainable development.
The Group will be a workplace that employees will not regret devoting their lives to.
1975/1986
Building expertise as an earthquake-resistant materials manufacturer and contributing to society through resilient products
Focusing on new product development and boldly venturing into new fields, we have developed the Okabe brand of seismic-resistant and slope reinforcement products to protect lives and
property from disasters such as earthquakes and landslides. Our metal processing technology is supported by industry-leading research and development capabilities and a strong passion
2000's
Formulating a long-term vision inspired by the desire to provide safety and security to people around the world
Through business diversification and global expansion, we shifted our focus toward becoming a technology-
driven company and further strengthened our technological development capabilities. Marking our 100th anniversary in 2017, we promoted the selection and concentration of our businesses. In 2024, we established Okabe Corporate Vision
for craftsmanship. The exceptional functionality and reliability of our products have earned the deep trust of construction professionals involved in design and installation, gaining broad support throughout the industry.
Top: The Free Frame method (launched in 1975) simultaneously achieves slope reinforcement and greening. Bottom: The Basepack column base method" (launched in 1986) is an exposed column footing technique combining high seismic resistance and ease of installation.
2040, outlining our aspirations for the year 2040. Rooted in the core values of Creativity, Connectivity, and People Power that we have nurtured, we strive for sustainable growth in harmony with society.
