FEMA awards $ 74,000 to Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority for their fire safety program
YOUNGSTOWN, OH, May 28 /CNW/ - Pioneering Technology Corp. of Mississauga, Ontario (TSX-V: PTE), ("Pioneering") and the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority (YMHA) recently demonstrated the Safe-T-element cooking technology to the media. The YMHA will replace all open coil stove top elements in three of its high rise apartment buildings. The demonstration was attended by residents and FEMA representatives and was recorded and broadcasted on the local NBC affiliate's 6pm news broadcast.
Stove top fires are the number one cause of residential fires and unattended cooking is the leading cause. The Safe-T-element helps prevent these fires when a heated stove is left unattended. Pioneering's Safe-T-element is the only technology of its kind that helps prevent these fires from starting in the first place.
Clifford Scott, Executive Director of the YMHA said, "Pioneering Technology's Safe-T-element will help us to bring added protection to YMHA residents. We applied for this grant because we are committed to reducing the number of cooking fires that our residents experience. The YMHA was awarded the grant by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) grant program.
