NSU Group-operated Ship “SETO AZURE” Commences LNG Bunkering Operations

The LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) bunkering ship*1 "SETO AZURE"(hereinafter referred to as "the Ship"), which is managed and operated by NS United Coastal Tanker Kaisha, Ltd., a company of the NS United Kaiun Group, was delivered on April 9, 2026. On April 21, the Ship carried out its first LNG bunkering operation, supplying LNG fuel to an LNG-fueled iron ore carrier calling at Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Going forward, the Ship will be engaged in LNG bunkering operations primarily in the Osaka Bay and the Seto Inland Sea areas, utilizing the ship-to-ship(STS) method*2. With safety as its highest priority, NS United Coastal Tanker Kaisha, Ltd. will play an important role in supporting marine transportation within Japan's gas energy supply chain.

Through initiatives such as this, the NS United Kaiun Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society.

*1: A ship that supplies LNG fuel to LNG-fueled ships.

*2: A method in which an LNG bunkering ship comes alongside an LNG-fueled ship while it is moored at a berth or anchored, and supplies LNG fuel directly.
