MITSUI-SOKO's Indonesian Subsidiary Achieves Halal Certification for Transportation Services
PT. MITSUI-SOKO INDONESIA, the Indonesian subsidiary of MITSUI-SOKO Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Torii), acquired Halal certification for its transportation services from the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Body (BPJPH) in August 2025. The four certified facilities are located in the suburbs of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and in Surabaya, the capital of East Java Province.
In Indonesia, mandatory Halal labeling has been gradually implemented under the Halal Product Assurance (JPH) Law, which was extended to food and beverage products starting in October 2024. In the future, the scope is anticipated to broaden to encompass imported food and beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Consequently, the range of Halal-certified products available in the Indonesian market is projected to increase substantially.
We have successfully introduced Halal-compliant equipment in all 30 trucks and trailers within our fleet and designated specially trained personnel to oversee operations at each location. This enables us to offer logistics services that meet Halal certification standards, covering everything from warehousing* to shipping and delivery.
