Further Establishing Cannabis In Mainstream Health Insurance Infrastructure
MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / February 12, 2018 / Novus Acquisition and Development, Corp. (OTC PINK: NDEV), through its wholly-owned subsidiary WCIG Insurance Services, Inc., is a diversified insurance entity in health, liability, annuity and accident, and, the nation's first carrier/aggregator offering a cannabis health plan, today is proud to announce expansion of health benefits packages to Novus Cannabis MedPlan.
Coming in March 2018, Novus Cannabis MedPlan will expand cannabis health packages to further position cannabis health insurance in mainstream healthcare. Aside from our current cannabis benefits, Novus will be adding benefits that incorporate:
- Psychological and behavioral health tele-counseling (PTSD and other debilitating ailments)
- Caregiver support
- Chiropractic
- Long-term elder care
- Alternative medicine
- Telemedicine offering treatment via the patient's computer or mobile device as an anytime, anywhere consultation with U.S. board-certified doctors
All benefit packages were designed to be competitively priced to other healthcare insurance carriers, giving our patient/members 50%-65% cost reduction on traditional out-of-pocket medical expenses. This dramatically improves access to treatments as we continue to grow our patient/members and reach a larger consumer market base that can augment their healthcare coverage(s), thereby improving health outcomes at reduced out-of-pocket expenses of their healthcare.
Insurance Deductibles Remain High For Americans in 2018
To date, 30 states plus Washington, DC have some deprivation to healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act, with over 4 million of American citizens will be deprived of proper health insurance coverage in 2018. Our analysis gives our growing patient/member baseless restrictive network plans than most Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) which continue to dominate the exchange market, with 73% of the 2018 market comprised of restrictive network plans, up from 68% in 2017 and 54% in 2015.
Novus Chief Executive Officer, Frank Labrozzi, states, "Insurers focusing on narrow network exchange products that enable them to offer competitive premiums with high deductibles and manage medical costs, come at a lower price tag for patient/members but greater out-of-pocket expenses as deductibles continue to rise to approximately $3,500 to $4,000 per patient/member per year. These plans limit consumer choice and access to specialist care and do not offer cannabis as an alternative medical solution. As Novus works diligently to offer more traditional insurance coverage with our in-network of dispensaries that offer THC and CBD medicines, we are making cannabis a traditional part of the American and Canadian healthcare regiment."

Status Of Canadian Roll Out
Bills C-45 and C-46, dealing with the cannabis consumption and sale guidelines were set for evaluations by Canadian Fed Regulators. Many Conservative senators are saying the bills could take at least eight months to be properly examined - a time frame that could push full legalization until the end of the year in a best-case scenario. Novus continues to work with Canadian regulatory authorities to finalize and continually modify our benefits packages that will be marketable and comply with Canada's universal healthcare coverage(s). At this juncture, all signs have positive reviews from many departments but we want to review the entire regulatory landscape before embarking on a roll out of medplan(s).

Once a push notification is completed the transaction is solely between the state-licensed dispensary and the registered patient.
The state laws are in conflict with the federal Controlled Substances Act. The current administration has effectively stated that it is not an efficient use of resources to direct federal law enforcement agencies to prosecute those lawfully abiding by state designated laws, allowing the use and distribution of medical marijuana. However, there is no guarantee that the current administration, nor any future administration, will not change this policy and decide to enforce the federal laws strongly. Any such change in the federal government's enforcement of current federal laws could cause significant financial changes to Novus. While we do not intend to harvest, distribute or sell cannabis or cannabis related products, we may be harmed by a change in enforcement by federal or state governments.
