Newcore Gold (TSXV:NCAU) has launched a pre-feasibility study (PFS) for its Enchi Gold Project in Ghana , with completion targeted by the end of the first half of 2026. Toronto -based Lycopodium Minerals Canada is leading the study, supported by Fuse Advisors , Knight Piésold and DRA Global . The PFS will build on the 2024 preliminary economic assessment (PEA) and incorporate extensive fieldwork and technical studies completed over 2024 and 2025. Work undertaken to date includes about 30,000 metres of additional drilling, metallurgical testing, hydrogeological investigations and geotechnical assessments aimed at refining mine design and processing parameters. The Enchi project hosts an indicated resource of 743,500oz grading 0.55g/t gold and an inferred resource of 972,000oz at 0.65g/t. The 248km² land package stretches along 40km of the Bibiani Shear Zone , a prolific gold belt in Ghana known for hosting several multi-million-ounce deposits. Development plans are centred on open-pit mining with a conventional milling and carbon-in-leach (CIL) processing flowsheet. Metallurgical testwork indicates potential gold recoveries of 89.4% to 97.7%, significantly higher than the 75%–85% recoveries previously assumed under a heap leach scenario. Lycopodium will oversee process plant design and capital and operating cost estimates, while Fuse Advisors will handle mine planning and engineering. Knight Piésold will focus on tailings storage and hydrogeology, and DRA Global will contribute to resource and geotechnical modelling. President and CEO Luke Alexander said the shift to a milling and CIL flowsheet followed optimisation work that highlighted stronger recoveries and lower processing risk in the current higher gold price environment.
