New Malpensa-Gallarate railway inaugurated: Nocivelli ABP delivers plant engineering and technological worksCastegnato (Brescia), January 26, 2026 - The new railway connecting Terminal 2 of Malpensa Airport to Gallarate, along the Sempione line, was inaugurated today. This strategic infrastructure enhances mobility across Lombardy and the national transport system and is set to serve citizens ahead of the upcoming Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The project, carried out by Ferrovienord with co-funding from Regione Lombardia, significantly reduces travel times between Gallarate and Malpensa, providing faster and safer journeys for both commuters and travelers.

The railway link, comprising 4.6 kilometers of new track toward Gallarate, includes four underpasses, three overpasses, seven emergency exits, and technological buildings, including an electrical substation. The project represents a key intervention for completing the railway ring around Malpensa, improving accessibility, intermodality, and the responsiveness of the regional rail network. With the inauguration of this project, Nocivelli ABP reaffirms its strategy of participating in major public and infrastructure projects, demonstrating how its project pipeline translates into tangible results and infrastructure that benefits the wider community.
