MedRx announces that MRX-7MLL, a transdermal patch with memantine for Alzheimer disease, has not demonstrated a favorable skin permeability profile in the First-In-Human study, phase I a clinical trial (P1a).

• The plasma concentration with MRX-7MLL in P1a study suggests that clinically useful patch size of MRX-7MLL doesn't demonstrate same level of plasma concentration with oral memantine.

• No serious adverse effects including skin reaction are observed in 81% of subjects, while the administration was discontinued by a strong skin irritation in small number of subjects.
