CALGARY, May 23 /CNW/ - Maple Leaf Reforestation Inc. ("Maple Leaf") is pleased to announce that it has retained Mr. Deqing Wei as a business consultant for Maple Leaf's operations in China. His previous governmental appointments in Shanxi Province include: Auditor General of Shanxi Province, Deputy Mayor/Mayor of Yangquan city, Secretary General of Jinzhong City Communist Party Committee and Deputy Section Chief of Pingding County. Mr. Wei's connections throughout various levels of the Chinese government may assist Maple Leaf with accessing the large 'Green Environmental Resource' market in China, which is endorsed and spearheaded by the central government of China.

Mr. Thomas Xiaolu Tang, Vice-President of Maple Leaf and in his role as the legal representative in China reports: "At present, there are many 'Restoration of Green Environment' projects carried out by various levels of government in China, spending billions of RMB each year; this does not include the equivalent amount of money that is provided through private sector investment. With Mr. Wei's assistance, I am confident that the Corporation will have a better opportunity to participate in some of these projects."
Maple Leaf's primary mission is to provide top quality, value added nursery seedlings and services for reforestation and landscaping projects in China through a 100% Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise registered company. Maple Leaf currently has over 6,000,000 various types of seedlings under cultivation in our 110,000 square foot greenhouse.
