About this update from Interconexion Electrica Sa Esp

The project, which involves the construction of a 500 kV substation and a line of approximately 20 km, will be executed in the municipality of Magangué, department of Bolívar, and is scheduled to enter into operation on December 31, 2028. This is the first bid awarded as part of the urgent works program of the Misión Transmisión Plan, announced by the Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME). These works have a net present value of future revenues of USD 21.5 million and will provide ISA with annual revenues of USD 2.6 million. The Magangué 500 kV substation and associated transmission lines is a significant step forward in Colombia's energy transition, as it provides a new connection site for future renewable generation projects in the north of the country, reaffirming the commitment of ISA and its companies to sustainable development and the mitigation of climate change. The project, to be built by ISA INTERCOLOMBIA , an ISA company, includes the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the new Magangué 500 kV substation and approximately 20 km of line that will connect it to the current Chinú - Copey line, which will be reconfigured as Chinú - Magangué - Copey. The awarding of this project is one more step towards improving the transmission capacity and reliability of the National Interconnected System (SIN) in the regions of Sucre, Bolívar, and Magdalena, ensuring an efficient response to the growing demand for energy and guaranteeing the continuity and quality of the service. " In addition to being essential to ensure the safety and reliability of the energy system, the project will be crucial to satisfy the industrial demand of the Caribbean Coast. It will contribute significantly to the development and progress of the region, as well as to the boosting of the country's energy transition ," said Jorge Andrés Carrillo, ISA'S CEO. In 2024, ISA also was awarded the construction of the Pasacaballos substation and the installation of transformers in the Primavera and Sogamoso substations. These projects contribute significantly to strengthening the energy matrix and improving the system's resilience in the face of increased demand. The Misión Transmisión Plan, announced by the UPME, is a strategy to improve system reliability, guarantee the uninterrupted supply of energy, and facilitate the integration of renewable generation projects within the framework of the country's energy transition.
