Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced the launch of 13 new projects on Wednesday aimed at reducing the country's import dependence in the energy, mineral and agriculture sectors, with total investment set to reach around 116 trillion rupiah ($6.7 billion).Below are some of the 13 projects:Gasoline refinery units will be built in the Dumai and Cilacap facilities operated by state energy firm Pertamina (PERTM.UL), with a combined capacity of 62,000 barrels of oil per day.Pertamina will also build three fuel storage facilities in the three provinces of East Kalimantan, Papua and East Nusa Tenggara with a combined capacity of 153,000 kilolitres.State mining holding firm MIND ID and Pertamina will construct a facility to process dimethyl ether (DME) from coal in South Sumatra, replacing some LPG imports.The coal-to-DME facility will have an annual output capacity of 1.4 million metric tons.Jakarta had previously attempted to build a coal-to-DME facility, but the project stalled after its U.S. partner Air Products and Chemicals Inc withdrew.State steel maker Krakatau Steel IDX:KRAS and its partners will build a nickel-based stainless steel factory in Central Sulawesi with 1.2 million tons of annual output capacity, and a carbon steel slab factory with a capacity of 1.5 million tons a year in Cilegon, Banten.State plantation firm PT Perkebunan Nusantara will build facilities to produce oleofood and biodiesel products in North Sumatra.($1 = 17,315 rupiah)
