Thanks to this system, ships can switch off their auxiliary engines whilst berthed, reducing local emissions, improving air quality and also reducing noise pollution in the port area. With this project, Iberdrola is reinforcing its commitment to innovative solutions to accelerate electrification in hard-to-reach sectors such as maritime transport and port operations. OPS technology enables more efficient, cleaner and autonomous energy management in port, as well as reducing vibrations, noise and wear and tear on on-board equipment.
