Genesis has begun construction of its 136 MWp* solar farm at Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty. A sod-turning ceremony on 13 March saw Genesis Chief Executive Malcolm Johns join local kaumatua to bless and turn the first earth on the 209 hectare site. The Rangitāiki Hapū Coalition have gifted the name Tihori to the project, the name of a Ngāti Awa chief who lived near Pūtauaki (Mt Edgecumbe).
