Public Consultation Schedule Announced

TORONTO, June 6 /CNW/ - Gabriel Resources is pleased to announce that the
Romanian Ministry of Environment and Waters Management has released an
extensive public hearing schedule based on the best opportunities for public
consultation. All interested parties are invited to get involved in the public
consultation on the proposed Rosia Montana project.
"A key component of the EIA process is an open and ample Public
Consultation period, in which interested parties have opportunities to examine
the EIA and meet with the independent experts who prepared it, as well as
Company officials," says Alan R. Hill, President and Chief Executive officer.
"The EIA measures our mine plan against European Union Directives, against
Romanian law, and internationally accepted practices and guidelines relating
to mining. I urge everyone interested to inform themselves as fully as
possible about our project."
Comments during the public consultation period will be collected and
reviewed by the Ministry of the Environment and Waters Management. The
Ministry then evaluates the public's comments and refers them to the Company
for a response that is collected and published as an Annex to the EIA. The
Romanian Government makes the final determination on EIA approval.
