Action Pushes EIA Process into 1Q 2007 Parallel Process Keeps Company on Track for 2009 First Pour TSX Trading Symbol: GBU TORONTO, Oct. 27 /CNW/ - Gabriel Resources Ltd. officials have been informed that it will receive in November 2006 the questions (the "Annex Questions") that must be addressed in an Annex to the Rosia Montana environmental impact assessment (EIA). As the Company awaits receipt of the Annex Questions, its EIA team continues to prepare responses based on the ongoing assessment of questions that were raised during the PDCP (Public Disclosure and Consultation Process) hearings held from July through August. As a result, the Company anticipates being in a position to provide a prompt response to the Annex Questions, once they have been formally received. The delay in receiving the Annex Questions, however, will extend the EIA approval process into the first quarter of 2007. Gabriel management confirms that it continues to work in parallel with the EIA process to acquire surface rights, which began on October 9th, hire a EPCM contractor, begin detailed engineering and order long-lead-time equipment. Management will work to maintain the construction schedule for Rosia Montana project which targets a first gold pour in Spring 2009.
