Fuji Seal International, Inc.
~Providing one-stop service through functional collaboration between pharmaceutical inspection / packaging and logistics~
The CMO Business Division of Fuji Seal, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Fuji Seal") a subsidiary of Fuji Seal International, Inc, has entered into a basic agreement with ITOCHU Logistics Corp. (hereinafter referred to as "ITOCHU Logistics") to begin implementation verification of a one-stop service.
Background of the Alliance
In the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory approval not only requires evidence of a product's efficacy and safety, but also proof that it can be stably distributed in the market as a finished product.
Fuji Seal has a strong track record in providing Japan-standard inspection and packaging services for both domestic and international pharmaceutical companies. Recently, we have seen a growing number of inquiries from emerging biotech ventures, both in Japan and overseas.
In order to respond to this increasing demand, we have concluded that forming an alliance with an experienced partner is essential in addition to enhancing our own capabilities.
Purpose of the Alliance
Fuji Seal planned this project as one of the key measures of FSG.30, "Expansion of Pharmaceutical Business."
Fuji Seal possesses inspection / packaging skills and quality control systems specialized for imported pharmaceuticals, as well as a wealth of customer support know-how. ITOCHU Logistics operates a global logistics network with 165 locations across 12 countries, along with 51 sites in Japan, and provides specialized pharmaceutical logistics services within Japan.
The functional collaboration between the two companies will enable the provision of one-stop services for imported pharmaceuticals.
Future Outlook
Going forward, Fuji Seal will explore further functional integration-including support for pharmaceutical development-in addition to providing one-stop services. Through these initiatives, we aim to strengthen the stable supply system for pharmaceuticals and contribute to resolving drug lag and drug loss issues in Japan.
Details of Fuji Seal's pharmaceutical packaging capabilities and our collaboration with ITOCHU Logistics will be showcased at INTERPHEX JAPAN 2025 (July 9-11, 2025, Tokyo Big Sight).
Fuji Seal Group remains committed to accelerating the growth of its pharmaceutical business and delivering new value to customers worldwide.
