Fabrizio
Borracci is the current CEO and chairman of Card Tech Srl, an Italian
company focused on innovation in mobile device security.
Fabrizio also assumes the role of General Manager of Card Tech International BV, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Having
been subject to Credit card fraud in 2004, he researched on the topic
of credit card fraud and identity theft to find out that it is a
worldwide problem amounting to hundredis of millions of Euros every
year. In 2005, Fabrizio founded a Research Group which aimed at
fighting identity theft and credit fraud problems.
In 2006, Fabrizio
invented the first biometric smart card solution which he secured
through a number of international patents. In 2008 Fabrizio co-founded
Card Tech Srl with some Government Funding from the Friuli Venezia
Giulia region and provate investors. The aim of the company was to
research and develop innovative products allowing for enhanced privacy
and security for the ISO standard smart card market.
As of today,
Fabrizio led the development and subsequent patent protection of a
number of high-tech solutions with various applications, all using a
biometric sensor to verify the user?s identity through fingerprint
verification.
