GUELPH, ON, May 2 /CNW/ - Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO of ENPAR
Technologies Inc. ("ENPAR"), is extremely pleased to announce that last week
the Company shipped the DesEL and AmmEL-HC small-scale units to the University
of Montreal for testing by Anjou Recherche, the Research and Development
Division of Veolia Environment.
During the first two weeks of May, ENPAR engineers will assist in
commissioning the two units. Testing is expected to continue for the next
several months with the objective of rigorously testing the capabilities of
the two patented systems on a variety of water quality and operating
conditions.
As was previously reported, following successful testing ENPAR will have
an opportunity to negotiate a commercial exclusivity agreement with Veolia
Environment for the territories currently managed by the company's Distributor
2V2T. Dr Shelp states "this is the first major step to ensuring that the
Company's state-of-the-art water treatment systems have direct access to the
market through a global leader like Veolia. The next step is to secure the
support of an equally respected and established manufacturing partner, a
process that is well underway."
The AmmEL-HC System is proving to be an extremely effective system for
directly converting toxic ammonia, which is found in high levels in municipal
waste streams, into environmentally friendly nitrogen gas. The AmmEL-HC System
will enable municipalities to achieve year-round compliance with government-
mandated environmental standards and regulations.
The DesEL System is a proven alternative to conventional water treatment
systems for removing both dissolved contaminants such as arsenic, mercury and
nitrate, and other dissolved ions from industrial waste water, process water
and drinking water sources.
ENPAR is a "Technology Company" applying its patented and proprietary
"Electrochemical Technologies" to the treatment of waste water and drinking
water contaminated by metals or nutrients i.e., nitrate/ammonia associated
with the mining, metal processing, chemical, agricultural, municipal and waste
management sectors. The common shares trade on Tier ll of the TSX Venture
Exchange under the symbol "ENP".
