B5Plus Group, an industrial group active in steel manufacturing and downstream activities, has selected Danieli to supply the technological equipment for a new bar and wirerod mill in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
The new rolling mill will have a production capacity of 50 t/h, corresponding to approximately 300,000 tpy of long products, including deformed reinforcing bars and smooth wirerod. Danieli's scope of supply will include the technological equipment for rebar production in straight lengths from 8 to 32 mm diameter, and smooth wirerod production from 5.5 to 16 mm diameter.
All high-technology equipment for the wirerod line, such as the laying head for coil formation and Fast Finishing Block, will be manufactured at Danieli's headquarters' workshop in Italy.
The rolling mill will be operated through integrated, in-house automation systems that will ensure stable rolling conditions, product quality consistency, and operational efficiency across the full product range.
The plant layout has been conceived to allow for future direct connection with a planned continuous casting machine, supporting B5Plus Group's long-term development strategy and enabling enhanced production integration.
This approach is aligned with other recent Danieli rolling mill orders in the region, including the project recently awarded by Lodhia Steel in Tanzania, confirming the scalability and flexibility of Danieli long-product solutions also for growing industrial markets.
Startup of the new bar and wirerod mill is planned within Q3 2027.
