Correction: Subsidiary ORRG Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Tonga Waste Authority

Oceania Renewable Resource Group (ORRG) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Waste Authority Ltd (WAL) of the Kingdom of Tonga.


The MOU was signed by Ms. Ma‘ana ‘Akauola, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Waste Authority Ltd, and Mr. Saia Mataele, Director of ORRG, establishing a framework for cooperation and the exploration of opportunities in waste management, resource recovery and circular economy development.   ORRG extends its sincere appreciation to Waste Authority Ltd and the Kingdom of Tonga for their openness, trust and support throughout the discussions leading to this agreement. The MOU represents an important first step toward identifying practical and sustainable solutions that can contribute to Tonga’s environmental and economic future.

Under the framework of the MOU, ORRG and WAL will work together to assess opportunities, share information and explore potential pathways for future collaboration. Initial discussions will focus on waste management, recycling, resource recovery and related circular economy initiatives that may support long-term sustainability outcomes for Tonga.  

ORRG welcomes engagement from relevant government agencies and stakeholders throughout this process and looks forward to building a constructive and long-term partnership in the Kingdom of Tonga.
