On top of regular SMS, customers of tech and marketing company CM.com now get a more interactive, modern variant to engage with their own customers.
Now that telecom companies support Rich Communication Services (RCS) on their networks, the Brabant-based firm is also enabling it for its customers in the Netherlands. In other countries, RCS has been available for a long time.
This far from new technology allows companies to communicate with their customers in a multimedia way that resembles WhatsApp or other messengers, but via the network of their own telecom provider.
CM explains in a press release: “This means consumers can take action directly from a message, such as tracking a parcel, confirming or changing an appointment, or viewing an offer.”
Director Jeroen van Glabbeek: “With RCS, organisations can send interactive messages via a channel everyone knows, without consumers having to install an app. In other European countries, we see that this leads to more interaction and trust.”
If a device does not support RCS, the message is automatically delivered as an SMS.
