Chrysler Recalls 419,000 Jeeps Over Air Bag Software Issue

By Dean SealStellantis's Chrysler is recalling more than 419,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles over a software error that may delay the deployment of side air bags during a crash.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall affects certain 2022 to 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2023 to 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L models.The software error affects the vehicles' occupant restraint controller model. Dealers will update the module software free of charge to fix the issue.Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 11.Write to Dean Seal at [email protected]
