Recently, the main bridge of the Saribas Bridge project in Malaysia, built by CSCEC, was connected, marking a major construction milestone and paving the way for the project's completion.
The Saribas Bridge is CSCEC's first bridge project in Malaysia, with a total length of 2.43 kilometers. Its main bridge features a six-span prestressed concrete continuous rigid structure with a maximum span of 220 meters, making it one of the longest bridges of its kind in Southeast Asia.
Once completed and opened to traffic, the project will serve as a major transportation artery for the local area, significantly improving regional connectivity and contributing to a more efficient modern transportation network.
The main bridge adopts a variable cross-section prestressed concrete continuous girder design and features ultra-long pile foundations in water, large pile caps, high piers and extra-long spans. The project team innovatively adopted skeleton reinforced concrete combined with concrete pouring during low-temperature periods, keeping the closure deviation within the millimeter range.
The project also achieved a borehole verticality deviation of less than 1 percent for its ultra-long pile foundations, while integrity tests rated all piles as Class I, ensuring the safety and stability of the bridge's foundation structure.
During construction, the project received the silver award of the MOSHPA OSH Excellence Award and CSTR HSE Performance (Gold) in Malaysia in recognition of its outstanding performance in safety and environmental management.
