The largest shift-gas absorber at the plant of Xinjiang Coal-to-Gas Company,a subsidiary of China Shenhua, has recently been hoisted into position. This marks a key breakthrough in the installing major core equipment for the coal-to-gas project and lays a solid foundation for subsequent piping work, system commissioning and overall startup.
The shift-gas absorber weighs 1,370 tonnes and stands 103 meters high and serves as the core piece of equipment for the Rectisol purification unit. The hoisting adopted a dual-crane coordinated lifting method, with a 4,000-tonne crawler as the main crane and a 1,250-tonne crawler for tailing. All on-site teams worked closely together, strictly implemented safety controls, and overcame complex construction conditions. The entire operation went off without a hitch.
Since the beginning of 2026, Xinjiang Coal-to-Gas Company has focused on key projects through visual scheduling and reverse timeline planning, balanced safety, quality, and progress, strengthened resource support, and tightened responsibilities at all levels. It has seized the peak construction season to speed up project construction and improve efficiency, injecting strong momentum into on-schedule commissioning in 2027.
