The Panzhou-Xingyi High-Speed Railway (Panxing HSR), built with participation from CRCC, recently began operations, connecting Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture to the national high-speed rail network and completing the "final link" in Guizhou's high-speed rail system. With this achievement, Guizhou becomes the first province in Southwest China to provide high-speed rail access to all its prefecture-level cities.
Located in southwestern Guizhou Province, the Panxing HSR runs from Panzhou Station in Panzhou City, Liupanshui, to Xingyi South Station in Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture. Spanning 99 kilometers with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour, the line serves three stations: Panzhou, Baotian, and Xingyi South. While Baotian and Xingyi South are newly constructed stations, Panzhou Station underwent renovation and expansion. With bridges and tunnels comprising nearly 91% of the route-the highest proportion among Guizhou's completed high-speed railways-the project presented significant engineering challenges and demanding technical requirements.
The Tuole Tunnel, stretching 13,317 meters, stands as both the longest and most high-risk tunnel on the line. It traverses various complex geological formations, with karst terrain extending over 10,000 meters. The project team employed advanced geological forecasting, simultaneous multi-face excavation, grouting reinforcement, and enhanced drainage systems to ensure construction safety and quality throughout the process.
The 809.8-meter Haizi River No. 1 Bridge represents the line's only swivel bridge and a critical control structure. Through precise calculation of rotation parameters and optimized structural and construction designs, the team successfully executed a single precise rotation of the bridge span while maintaining safe operations on existing rail lines.
CRCC also handled the railway's "four electrical systems" (power supply, catenary, communications, and signaling). The project team innovatively implemented full-parameter visualization for catenary calculations and trackless measurement technology, enabling factory prefabrication of equipment and precise on-site installation, significantly enhancing both construction efficiency and operational reliability of the power supply system.

With the Panxing HSR now operational, travel time between Guiyang and Xingyi has been reduced to as little as 2 hours. The railway establishes a 1-to-2-hour high-speed rail circle connecting all eight prefecture-level cities across Guizhou Province, playing a vital role in improving the regional railway network, promoting economic and social development along the corridor, and strengthening regional connectivity.
