Cantex Mine Development Corp. - Eighteen drill holes and cyanide leach tests completed at the Al Hariqah Gold Deposit, Yemen

LOWNA, BC, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - Cantex Mine Development Corp (CD - TSX
Venture Exchange) ("Cantex" or the "Company").
The Company is pleased to report that the drilling of the four kilometer
long gold zone is progressing at its 100% owned Al Hariqah project. To date 18
of the 45 planned holes have been completed cost effectively using Cantex's
core / percussion drill staffed by Yemeni drillers. The drill program is
focused on providing additional confidence levels in the distribution of
mineralization within the previously drilled 1.1 kilometer section and broadly
extend this drill proven zone of mineralization over the four kilometer long
strike length. Samples from seven holes have now arrived in Canada and are
being prepared for analysis. Preliminary fire assay results for gold and
silver are expected in early January.
Cyanide extraction results have been completed for grab samples taken
from a high grade gold zone at Al Hariqah. The analyses were carried out by
Vizon Scitec of Vancouver, BC. A portion of each sample was crushed to
approximately 5 mm and another portion was milled to less than 75 micrometers.
Gold was then extracted from a 300 gram sub sample of each of the crushed and
milled material using 600 grams of 1 g/l sodium cyanide. The results of these
tests are presented below.

These tests suggest that the gold at Al Hariqah is best recovered firstly
using a gravity method followed by cyanide leach extraction of the gravity
tails. These techniques are analogous to the extraction methods at the
Sukhaybarat Gold Mine in Saudi Arabia where mining of a deposit of similar
geological character and gold grade to Al Hariqah is nearing completion.
The average of two assays for each sample is 64.4 g/t and 198.8 g/t,
respectively. At current gold prices these samples have in ground values of
US $1,074 and $3,314 per ton.
The Company is considering developing a mining operation at Al Hariqah to
recover near surface gold and these cyanide extraction tests assist in
determining the optimal gold recovery circuit.
