VVC Exploration Trading on Frankfurt and Berlin-Bremen Stock Exchanges
TORONTO, Jan. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - VVC EXPLORATION CORPORATION (VVC: TSX-V) ("VVC" or the "Company") announces that its applications for listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange ("FSE") and Berlin-Bremen Stock Exchange ("BBSE") has been accepted and the shares are now trading under the symbol V7S.
The FSE, which offers fully electronic trading facilities, is the largest of eight German stock exchanges and ranks as one of the largest stock exchanges in the world. This listing marks the first step of an aggressive campaign by VVC to increase its exposure in Europe. It provides VVC with increased access to worldwide capital markets and an opportunity to broaden its shareholder base by the establishment of a closer relationship with the European investment community which has recently expressed an interest in exploration projects in the People's Republic of China.
The BBSE, the oldest stock exchange in Germany, offers the largest scale of international securities. They are traded in the segment Unofficial Regulated Market ("URM"). The main focus of this segment is Asia, Eastern Europe and USA/Canada. The BBSE has the largest offer of Eastern European stocks in Germany - 120 companies from nine countries are traded at the URM. All companies listed at American high tech market Nasdaq, many NYSE stocks and several OTCBB companies are listed at the URM of the BBSE, giving investors the largest choice of American stocks in Europe with more than 5,500 American shares trading. In addition around 600 Canadian shares are listed. With about 1,000 securities from China and Hongkong, the main focus within the Asian securities listed at the BBSE is definitely the People's Republic of China.
