CALGARY, July 27 /CNW/ - BlackRock Ventures Inc. confirmed today that bitumen processing has resumed at its Seal facility, approximately 80 km northeast of Peace River, Alberta. The processing facilities were shut in on June 30, 2006 after a fire damaged a significant portion of the oil battery. Processing was re-started through the undamaged battery portion on July 24 and the facility is currently producing approximately 8,000 barrels of bitumen per day, of which approximately 4,000 barrels per day are BlackRock volumes. The Seal facility has a design capacity of 23,000 barrels per day. Repairs to the balance of the facility continue. The Company is investigating the cause of the fire.
