TORONTO, April 15 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Inc. announced today that Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation has verbally notified Bird of its decision to terminate the earlier awarded contract to construct the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton. Construction activity had not commenced on the facility as a result of delays imposed by the Government. The $147 million contract was previously included in the Company's Backlog, and as a result of the termination notice will be removed from the Backlog to be reported for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011.
