ANA Group Announces Cargo Business Reorganization to Strengthen Global Air Freight OperationsANA HOLDINGS INC. will integrate its cargo business companies, merging Nippon Cargo Airlines, NCA Japan and ANA Cargo into a single, unified entity.
Effective April 1, 2027, Nippon Cargo Airlines will continue as the operating entity, maintaining its Air Transport Business License and Air Operator Certificate.
From April 1, 2026, the reorganization will accelerate integration, including unifying international sales structures and consolidating warehouse operations between All Nippon Airways and Nippon Cargo Airlines.
This integration aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the ANA Group's cargo business by combining the expertise of ACX as a combination carrier with the specialized know-how of NCA and NCAJ as dedicated freighter operators. By further enhancing the synergy between its passenger flight network and freighter operations, the group will provide end-to-end solutions-integrating everything from sales to flight operations and cargo handling. This will allow the group to be more responsive to customer needs and the rapidly changing market, ultimately delivering even greater convenience and value to its customers.
Effective April 1, 2027, Nippon Cargo Airlines will continue as the operating entity, maintaining its Air Transport Business License and Air Operator Certificate.
Since the NCA Group joined the ANA Group in August 2025, the companies have expanded collaboration through shared cargo capacity and code-sharing, particularly across North America and Europe. This next phase of integration will enable greater efficiency and a more seamless customer experience.
Key initiatives staring from April 1, 2026 include:- Unifying sales structure outside Japan: Customers will have a single point of contact across the network, regardless of the operating carrier.
- Consolidating warehouse operations in Japan: Initial integration at Chubu Centrair International Airport and Kansai International Airport will allow centralized cargo drop-off and pick-up.
-
Streamlining cargo handling outside Japan: Consolidation will begin with arrival cargo operations at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, enabling more efficient processing.
Additional unification of sales structures in Japan and further consolidation of warehouse operations across domestic and international airports are currently under consideration.
ANA HD positions cargo as a core driver of long-term growth. The reorganization supports the group's goal of achieving 30 billion yen in integration and synergy effects outlined in its "ANA Group Medium-Term Corporate Strategy." By combining NCA's dedicated freighter network with ANA's international passenger network, the group aims to become Asia's leading combination carrier while delivering greater flexibility, reliability and value to customers.
