Moscow - PJSC Aeroflot (MOEX ticker: AFLT) today publishes Aeroflot Group's operating results for February and 2M 20251.
Key results from February 2025
The Group achieved high growth rates in 2024, well ahead of its medium-term development plans. Against the backdrop of last year's record figures and a high base of comparison, there is a decrease in certain indicators in the reporting period.
In 2025, the Group continues to move forward confidently, focusing on long-term goals.
3.6 million passengers were transported, 2.3% lower than in February 2024. The main reason for the decrease is related to the leap year in the comparison period: a decrease in passenger traffic by 82.8 thousand passengers year-on-year with an average daily traffic of 127.7 thousand passengers in February 2025. Average daily traffic in February 2025 increased by 1.2%. The absence of an additional holiday in the reporting period also had an impact on the transportation indicators.
2.7 million passengers were transported on domestic routes, 3.3% less than in February 2024, which is fully explained by the calendarization effect indicated above.
On international routes, traffic increased by 1.0%, to 903.4 thousand passengers.
The completed passenger turnover is comparable to February 2024 and amounted to 10.0 billion passenger-kilometers.
The passenger load factor remains at historically high levels of 89.0%, including 91.0% on domestic routes and 86.5% on international routes.
Aeroflot airline carried 1.9 million passengers, down 3.9% compared to February 2024, while passenger turnover increased by 2.1%. Aeroflot airline's performance was due to the transfer of flights on the Moscow-St Petersburg route to Rossiya airline from June 2024 as part of the launch of the Shuttle programme. Rossiya airline's passenger traffic increased by 14.8% in February, including 21.2% on domestic routes.
